A Potted History

Managing Partner of Prestige Relocation, Fiona Gilbert, has property in her blood. She commenced her career as an articled chartered surveyor in 1979, gaining experience across residential, commercial and industrial property with firms throughout North and West Yorkshire and the wider North of England.

In 1995, Fiona and her husband Simon — who had already spent 11 years in the long-term healthcare property market, acquiring and selling nursing homes and care homes for clients — established a specialist healthcare property agency together. It became the largest independent agency of its kind in the UK, involving negotiations at all levels and, in many cases, multi-million-pound transactions conducted with the utmost confidentiality.

Having sold that business, Fiona recognised that property buyers and tenants could benefit greatly from their combined expertise and regional knowledge. Prestige Relocation was launched in 2005.

"It can be difficult for people living outside the area to view properties before they are sold or let. As we are on the spot, we can inspect on our clients' behalf, contact them immediately if a property is suitable, and take videos — warts and all. Rental properties in particular are snapped up very quickly, so having that local contact is vital."

With over 40 years of experience in the property industry and an extensive network of contacts across the premium residential and commercial markets, Fiona and Simon conduct specific searches for properties that may or may not be on the open market — and negotiate on your behalf to achieve the best possible price.

Once your purchase or rental is agreed, they work closely with your legal advisors, surveyors, funders and other professionals to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible through to completion.
